Amamoor Creek Campground
Cedar Grove Campground

There are two camping areas in Amamoor State Forest—Cedar Grove camping area and Amamoor Creek camping area. The access road is unsealed and suitable for conventional vehicles.

Travel 12 km west from Amamoor township along the Amamoor Creek Road to Cedar Grove camping area.

Campsites: Open area without separately defined sites. Grassy campsites are located in rainforest and open forest settings.

Campsites are suitable for: tent camping beside your car; walk-in camping; caravans; camper trailers; campervans; motor homes; large groups.

Bigriggen Park Reserve

9km west of Rathdowney

Located only an hour and a half from both the Gold Coast and Brisbane, Bigriggen Park.

Bigriggen Park offers level, grassy, non-powered camping with plenty of shade, without the restriction of small designated sites.

Easy access for caravans, buses, motorhomes etc. Enjoy fishing, bush walking, pleasure canoeing (BYO), cycling (BYO), swimming, water sports at nearby dams, exploring the Scenic Rim and more.

Sharp Park River Bend Country Bush Camping - Dog Friendly

A family bush camping ground situated five kilometres from the township of Canungra.

Five hectares of managed and well maintained camping and recreational grounds set amongst the hills on the Upper Coomera River, which is ideal for swimming or throwing in a fishing line.

Septic toilets on site, solar shower available on request.

Campfire facilities and fire wood also available. Pets are welcome though must be contained at all times.

Kenilworth State Forest


Charlie Moreland Campground

Especially great for young families - safe swimming creek
in an open forest, grassy setting and close to Little Yabba Creek. The Charlie Moreland camping area is accessed via Sunday Creek Road, off the Kenilworth–Maleny Road about 7 km south of the Kenilworth township. The camping area is nestled close to the creek and native pine plantations. 

Access: the Sunday Creek Road access is unsealed and includes a creek crossing.

Number of sites: open area without separately defined sites.

Camp sites are suitable for: tent camping beside your car; walk-in camping; caravans; camper trailers; (small) motor homes; large groups.

Rainbow Beach


Camping in Inskip Peninsula Recreation Area - Dog Friendly

Inskip Point Campground - 12km north of Rainbow Beach

Allocasuarinas, cypress pine and other coastal trees and shrubs shade Inskip Peninsula’s camping areas, which are ringed by open ocean beaches and sheltered estuary shores—all within 15 minutes drive of Rainbow Beach.

2WD vehicles, camper trailers, caravans and boat trailers cannot get into every camping area. Don’t get stuck! Choose a suitable camping area for the vehicle type and trailer set-up.

The camping area is situated in an area with large native pine plantations and pockets of natural forest.

Sandy Creek Campin' - Dog Friendly

The Sandy Creek Campin’ bush and family camping grounds are conveniently located only a 1 hour north from Brisbane, up the M1 to the Kilcoy exit, or try the more scenic route through Dayboro and Mt Mee for spectacular views along the way. We are not far from the Darling Downs or the Sunshine Coast either.

Although our bush land retreat is spread out over almost 500 acres of undeveloped natural landscape for those who like hiking or bird watching, there are almost 20 klms of rough walking tracks that can also be used by mountain bikes. This is not our priority however, motor bikes or Quads are not allowed, and we certainly don’t encourage noisy vehicles.

Sandy Creek Campin’ hosts a range of facilities and activities available, including:

  • Easy 2 Wheel drive access to the campgrounds
  • Pets welcome but must be leashed at all times
  • Campfires permitted, but please be considerate of others
  • Numerous walking tracks available to enjoy the local wildlife
  • We also offer real flushing toilets
  • hot and cold showers
  • Our grounds are very safe and level with plenty of shady trees beside Sandy Creek to create your piece of Paradise for a few days.
